Governor Schwarzenegger;
Please veto all attempts by the legislature to illegally raise taxes by naming them "fees". It is the height of childish arrogance to think that the will of the people was not to rein in government spending, but to rename expenses from "taxes" to something else.
Bottom line: The citizens of California are hurting. We don't care if you use the word "Oranges", we cannot accept any new taxation from Sacramento. So go tell the lines of unions, oil companies, banks, etc. that your people are tapped out and they (like the rest of us) just have to make do with less. Better yet, cut them all off and tell them to pound sand.
I was laid off in January 2008, and am struggling to get a business off the ground. If you endorse this misnamed TAX INCREASE, I will take that as a message that California does not want the income, employment, and economic recovery that my business will provide.
I am seriously looking at Texas, which seems to have a less intrusive, more restrained government.
