How much should taxes go up to help a bad economy?
Of course every idiot knows that when facing massive layoffs and corporate bankruptcies, the economy needs less taxes, not more, but state capitols and Washington seems to think that in an up economy you should raise taxes and spending a LOT, and in a down economy you should raise them even more.
I suspected it all along, but when Nanci Pelosi suggested a bailout for the San Fransisco Chronicle in the same week that some suggested using the power of the federal government to take out Rush Limbaugh, I knew that none of this is about stimulus. So wake up idiots. The Government is not a giant pile of money. Every dime they have was stolen from a hardworking person's paycheck. And now we're stealing not only from them, but also from their children and their grandchildren. At some point the U.S. Dollar will be worthless and people will refuse to work for it or accept it as tender.
How much additional borrowing should the government do to get out of debt?
The moron's answer to this is "none". There is no way in Hell, Heaven, Purgatory, or even Washington D.C. that borrowing will do anything other than increase debt. What we need to do is cut off federal spending. Make the target for fiscal 2009 $0 and force Congress to sacrifice something for every dollar it goes up from there. If you want to see how well America works, shut down all entitlements, shut down all federal bureaucracies, shut it all down and set the economy free.
Americans are a great and decent people, we are generous to the poor and the afflicted. But that generosity must be voluntary, not stolen at the point of a gun. All taxation is money taken with the threat of the gun. Most of us are happy to help the nation, but when you take it from us and use it against us with such an in-your-face attitude, we get resentful. We look for ways to reduce our taxes. Atlas shrugs.
You can only slap people in the face, steal their income, and mock them for so long without backlash. If you doubt that, consider this:
- Christians are taxed and the money pays for abortions around the world.
- Parents are taxed and told that they may not be told if their daughter is getting an abortion. Oh, and if anything goes wrong, the parents are on the hook for medical complications.
- People pay extra medical insurance to cover freeloaders who have none
- Small businesses pay taxes that are handed over to big companies in bailouts.
- Parents pay for police and prisons only to be told there are hundreds of sexual predators and "known gang members" all around them
- Families who slave and sacrifice to send their children to private and home schools must work harder to support the failing public schools. Then the teacher's unions use that money to lobby against the very people who paid them
- Decent people pay taxes that goes to pay for deviant and disgusting art. The reasoning here is that this art would never be produced if art required private financial backing. But if a community finds it so objectionable, then maybe it shouldn't be produced at all. If it really has some societal value then somebody somewhere will cough up some change for it. You needn't stick a gun to anyone's head and then use it to pay a crack addict for his poo.
Do you see a pattern here? Self-righteous elitists have convinced you all that this is the right way to do things. If people refuse to go along with something, then the right thing to do is force them to from the courts or the state capitol or Washington DC. Because in this world-view, the masses are essentially mindless idiots, a resource to be harvested. They are self-destructive and need to be guided by the intelligentsia. As long as you give them the illusion of freedom, they will go along with your scheme to screw them over to the third and fourth generation.
How long are we going to pretend that "stimulus" is for the economy, rather than just political payback?
Face it, the stimulus package is wealth redistribution, pure and simple. So far all I got from the stimulus package is a giant federal debt to pay off. Plus, noting what happened to the companies who got bailed out first - the feds came in and took control of everything - I wouldn't take a bailout of their worthless dollars if they sat on my chest and tried to force me. sadly, I don't get a choice over whether to pay it back.
